SAP Testing Concepts
Testing
To save effort, cost, and time, unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, performance testing, and regression testing should all be automated and executed without fail in an organization. Developers/Testers could use the ABAP programming language to develop the test scripts for all such SAP testing types.
Unit Testing
A test of some new technical development, like a custom program or interface, usually consists of processing a test data set. This allows us to see if the new code works and if it can perform the process as designed.
Functional Testing
Testing configuration, system settings, or custom development usually follows technical unit testing. These tests use actual data or data that is masked but essentially the same as a real data set. A successful test shows that the development or configuration works as designed and the data is accurate as a result.
Integration Testing
Testing a process, development, or configuration means looking at how it works with other functions it will touch or integrate with. The test should include all data involved across all modules and any data indirectly affected. A successful test means the process works as designed and integrates with other functions without causing problems in any integrated areas.
Regression Testing
Regression testing is typically performed when a large change is going to be released to production environment. In order to conduct Regression testing, it is necessary to evaluate the entire application and verify that the features in production remain as previously deployed.

Training
Training your SAP end-users shouldn’t be an afterthought. It’s just as important as the planning and execution of your implementation.
An effective and timely SAP end-user training should be designed to meet the specific needs of the business in terms of both the tasks to be performed and the contextual process knowledge. In addition, the training should be sustainable, with course content that can be easily maintained and reused over time.
The next level of training is more specific and tailored to each area and role. It may include an overview of the process, new procedures, navigation of the system, and task-based training.
